Skoliq is designed as a learning companion and study operating system for schools, homeschool families, tutors, music schools, teachers, parents, guardians, and students. Because the Services may be used by minors and educational institutions, we treat privacy, student information, and safety as core product requirements.
2. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- the Skoliq website, including https://www.skoliq.com/privacy;
- the Skoliq mobile apps for Android and iOS;
- the Skoliq web app, dashboards, and school portals;
- accounts created by students, teachers, parents, school administrators, tutors, and homeschool users;
- uploaded documents, notes, assignments, submissions, projects, quizzes, flashcards, study kits, and related learning materials;
- communications made inside Skoliq, including comments, messages, announcements, and support requests.
If your school, teacher, parent, guardian, tutor, or organization provides your account, your organization may also have its own privacy notice, acceptable use policy, consent process, or data processing agreement.
3. Definitions
- Personal Information means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to a person.
- Student Information means information related to a student's educational use of Skoliq, such as classes, grade level, section, assignments, submissions, teacher feedback, quiz scores, progress, portfolio items, and learning activity.
- Educational Organization means a school, homeschool group, tutor center, music school, review center, training provider, or similar organization using Skoliq.
- Tenant means a dedicated Skoliq workspace for an organization, school, homeschool group, family, or individual.
- User Content means content uploaded, created, submitted, or shared through Skoliq, including notes, documents, images, videos, audio, messages, comments, projects, assignments, quizzes, flashcards, and files.
4. Children, Students, and School-Managed Accounts
Skoliq may be used by children and students under the direction of a school, teacher, parent, guardian, tutor, or homeschool administrator.
4.1 Students Under 13 or Below Local Digital Consent Age
Students under 13 years old, or below the applicable digital consent age in their location, may only use Skoliq with authorization from a parent, guardian, school, or authorized educational organization. When a school provides access, the school may provide consent where legally permitted and may act as the authorized administrator for student accounts.
4.2 Student Data Protection Commitments
For student users, Skoliq commits that we will not:
- sell student personal information;
- use student personal information for targeted advertising;
- create advertising profiles for students;
- knowingly allow behavioral advertising based on student activity in Skoliq;
- use student educational records for unrelated commercial purposes.
4.3 Parent, Guardian, and School Controls
Depending on account type and tenant settings, parents, guardians, teachers, or school administrators may be able to view or manage student schedules, assignments, submissions, grades, progress, portfolio items, messages, and account status. Private student notes are private by default unless the student submits, shares, or attaches them to official schoolwork.
4.4 Safety and Communication
Skoliq may provide group chat, individual chat, comments, announcements, and project discussions. Educational organizations may enable moderation, teacher visibility, audit logs, reporting tools, or restrictions on private messaging for student safety.

We collect information depending on how you use Skoliq, your role, and your organization's settings.

6. Sources of Information

- schools, teachers, parents, guardians, tutors, or administrators who create or manage accounts;
- other users in your tenant, such as group project members or teachers who comment on submissions;
- third-party login or integration providers, such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, or similar providers if enabled;
- analytics, crash reporting, hosting, database, storage, and security service providers.
7. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve Skoliq;
- create accounts and authenticate users;
- support multi-tenant school, homeschool, tutor, and individual workspaces;
- display the daily command center, schedules, deadlines, tasks, projects, files, notes, quizzes, flashcards, and progress;
- enable teacher-controlled assignments, submissions, rubrics, feedback, grades, and reports;
- enable student-owned study workflows, private notes, personal tasks, Pomodoro sessions, practice quizzes, and study plans;
- generate study kits, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and learning suggestions from uploaded materials when requested;
- send notifications, reminders, alerts, announcements, and service messages;
- support communications, group projects, comments, and collaboration;
- detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents, fraud, abuse, and policy violations;
- respond to support requests and administrative inquiries;
- comply with legal, regulatory, contractual, and app store obligations.
8. AI Study Features and Document Processing
Skoliq may offer AI-assisted study features such as summaries, flashcards, quizzes, study kits, weak-topic suggestions, study plans, and explanations based on uploaded documents or user-provided content.
8.1 How AI Features Work
When you use AI features, Skoliq may process the content you provide, such as notes, documents, lesson files, worksheets, or questions, to generate outputs. These outputs may include summaries, practice questions, flashcards, key terms, suggested tasks, or study plans.
8.2 Accuracy and Review
AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for formal grading without human review. Teacher approval may be required before AI-generated quizzes, flashcards, or study kits become official class materials or graded activities.
8.3 Training Use
Unless we separately obtain appropriate consent or provide a clear opt-in, Skoliq does not use student personal information, private student content, or school-controlled educational records to train public AI models. We may use aggregated or de-identified usage information to improve reliability, safety, and product performance.
8.4 Third-Party AI Providers
If Skoliq uses third-party AI providers, those providers may process submitted content only as necessary to provide the requested AI feature, subject to contractual, security, and confidentiality obligations. We will update this policy if our AI provider practices materially change.

Skoliq may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, analytics tools, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, improve performance, analyze usage, detect security risks, and debug errors.
For student users, Skoliq does not use cookies or similar technologies for targeted advertising based on student activity.

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, contract, school policy, security needs, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes.
Retention periods may depend on account type:
- Personal accounts: retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion requests, backup cycles, or legal obligations.
- School-managed accounts: retained according to the school's instructions, contract, academic record policy, or applicable law.

12. Security

When we receive a deletion request, we may need to verify your identity and account ownership. Some information may be retained where required or permitted by law, including security logs, transaction records, school records, academic records, dispute records, or backup copies until overwritten according to our backup cycle.
